Been surrounded by the vegan Feta today. 76 packs made & individually wrapped in plastic-free packaging and then produced several catering sized blocks. Would say no more please, but gotta make more later on this week ๐

A quick little snap here by @warmlii with the Vegan Feta topping a few leaves, beautiful sun dried tomatoes & a crisp bread of sorts. Looks like there's freshly cracked pepper on top too. It's one of the healthiest ways I seen people eat my food ๐ Still yummy of course!
The next event I'll be crashing with the vegan cheese is a @veganfairs in Portishead on Saturday! Will be a good day as some of my favourite traders will be there โบ๏ธ Somerset Hall, 11 The Precinct, Portishead, Bristol BS20 6AH. 10 till 3pm.
This pigeon is loving my cheese that it found on the ground. Was chucking all other the place trying to eat the rind part of it. Wasn't even afraid to sit between my feet and peck away as I packed up. Had it get it out of the mat it threw it into. Think he/she/it was thankful for my help ๐ฌ๐ If my cheese is good enough for a bird, it's good enough for you - my new slogan.
Samples are always available at my stall in markets and other events. Where possible I give my stockist free samples to give to you to help convince that a good Vegan cheese is possible when it's done right. The 3-4 month aged vegan cheddar was well received. Gathering all the comments and reviewing the cheese again myself it had the creamy texture part of the cheddar while in part having the ultra crumbly nature of parmesan or vintage cheddar. Flavours - floral notes with a touch of nuttiness and a bit stilton-y. It sold out. Did you know that this cheese is my Original Cheddar? The strong tangy one? This is what happens when you let an ex-dairy cheese maker create the vegan cheese ๐ None of that fake stuff you get on the supermarket ๐ By making my own cultures and old style methods, the cheeses can be aged for months to achieve complex flavours. I won't be doing any cheese like this for a while as - didn't plan this one either. I'll do one or two once I get a bit more space. Premium/expensive? Yes - but treat yourself ๐ Anyhooooo - could anyone who saw me at today's @vivacharity Cardiff fair chime in? I have questions ๐
Enough cheese? This is not even half of it ๐ Don't worry, no plastic here. I'm at the @vivacharity vegan festival in Cardiff till 5pm. Samples are available and I got a few specials including a 3 month matured cheddar, pure soft cashew cheese & a sun flower seeds cheese. Who needs dairy? ๐
Think I use to come here a lot as kid. Went to a lot of Asian weddings while growing up ๐ Currently setting up for the @vivacharity Vegan Fair in Cardiff City Hall though I didn't have time to pack food and I'm starving!! ๐ญ

Pure Cashew Soft Cheese - Cashews, Salt, my homegrown cultures & time. That's it. No yeast, no miso, no spices. Authentic enough? ๐ฌ You guys know I don't roll my stuff in herbs so I won't be doing that ๐ Being mostly cashews it is still a premium product so going to see how it works in tomorrow's Vegan fair.
It's quite hard to get a decent photo of the Cracked Black Peppercorn vegan cheese. It's a cheese that hates the light ๐ Been slicing & packing cheese for upcoming events such as this Saturday's Vegan Festival in Cardiff with @vivacharity. While doing so, I noticed that I've inadvertently been stock piling the pepper & chili cheese. I have cheese wheels that are well over a month old now, and oh my, they are good. Can't wait till I get a bigger place so that I can mature all my cheese for longer! Who needs dairy!?!

Think this one has failed. Three month matured cheddar. Really crumby texture with complex nutty flavour notes. However, there's an odd aftertaste & smell sooooooooooooo ๐ฌ
I try to please everyone but I think I need to shelf the yoghurt (yogurt?) again ๐ It's a space issue and to break even & keep up with the demand, I need to fill all the fridges & caves I have with vegan cheese and then some. Looking into a commercial kitchen has proven difficult with so many requirements that I need as an authentic / traditional cheesemaker. Converting the garage is my only option however there's no access of sewage water. Would need to look into it waste water tanks & weekly collections to see if it's affordable. Anyway, if you need yoghurt, message me and I'll make a small batch for you. Compared to cheese making, it's easy ๐
I'm eagerly waiting for this Saturday's event in Cardiff for the @vivacharity Vegan Festival. My entire range of cultured vegan cheeses will be there with maybe a few surprises. Share this event with your Welsh friends as they may want to try some decent vegan cheese for a change ๐ Make sure to tell them I used to make dairy cheese & am bit of a cheese snob ๐ It's on Saturday 16th February with only a ยฃ3 entry fee, located in Cardiff City Hall (CF10 3ND). . On the vegan menu: - Original Cheddar (cashew nut based) - Cracked Peppercorn Cheddar (cashew nut based) - Warning Chili Cheddar (cashew nut based) - Feta Cheese (cashew nut based) - Ten-hour Maple Wood Smoked Cheddar (cashew nut based) - Sunflower Seed Cheddar (seed based) - Other cheese surprises (cashew nut based)
When starting my food business, I wanted to do my part in not contributing negatively to the environment. If you been following for ages, you know I hate design & packaging for products. Though, no matter the solution, i refused to have plastic. Each solution did have it's own carbon footprint. Glass has a larger footprint to biodegradable cardboard tubs however it has infinite reuses. . To confuse things further; I never knew where starting the business that biodegradable & compostable were completely different. Cardboard is biodegradable however it takes ages to break down. Compostable materials breaks down faster - weeks to months, rather than months to years. . The solution I have for my cheese is far from perfect (looks naff & there's waste with excess packaging), however it's doing my part for the environment & longevity of the cheese (3 month Best Before on sealed cheeses rather than a few weeks). . Other things I do to not leave the world in a worse of state: - Use a combination of compostable gloves & washable cotton gloves for food prep - Buying in bulk where possible (cashews, coconut oil, etc) - Buying local where possible (starch, grains, etc) - Offering cheese cut off the wheel on the stall to minimise packaging & waste - Reusing containers where possible - Made my sandwich board sign from a pallet - Grow my own herbs for my products - and much more . There's still areas I need improvement on but hopefully I'm on the right track. My immediate fix list is: - Some suppliers still love bubble wrap - Some suppliers individually wrap items in plastic - Some things I buy personally have plastic - Big cheese wheels are vacuum packed in heavy duty plastic bags .
